Off to China!

October 13, 2006

Well, I'm off to China for two weeks, amazingly enough, leaving theprogram in very capable hands. Emily Auerbach and Anne Strainchamps will be filling in for me while I'm gone and they have both come up with some exciting topics. I'm still trying to finish my book - one more paragraph to go - it's been a real marathon, so I haven't had much time to think about my trip. I'm hoping to blog while I'm there, when it feels more real.

I'll be back on Monday, Oct. 30, with another program about the spectacular and amazing Shabnam Ramaswamy and the school she and her late husband established for street children in rural India. I listened to Dheera Sujan's Radio Netherlands documentary about it, and it made me want to cheer. Human beings at their finest. You'll cheer too.

Next stop - Beijing! Catch you later.

Hey Jean, met you last fall at the union with mock up for CD cover...
I'm sure everyone at public radio is getting sick of me but not nearly as sick as I'm getting of this mess which has gone on for yearssss! Did you know that I'm considered mentally ill and obsessed for making homemade pasta once!!!!! Not only that it was for a food styling job making $250 a day in which I am not the buyer for Swiss Colony Projects nor do I choose who they hire for styling, etc. Of course there was the big mistake I made dressing up for Halloween (Oct. 31) a few blocks from State Street and on my way to part time bartending job. Of course there's the thing of being denied any information about the going's on of everything I was and am entitled to ... But worst of all surveillence put in my house even in very private places where I had my clothing off. Any information that I can get thru public radio would be appreciated.
Talk about anti-Italian? I can't even eat Italian food without it being psychoanalyzed. And I'm not even a big pasta eater compared to almost everyone else I know!!!!
